Conveniently located close to San Francisco and Sacramento, the city of Stockton, California is seat of San Joaquin County.  The city is home to some of the most fertile land in the Central California Valley as well as the largest inland seaport in California.  The California Delta is here and made of up thousands of miles of canals, rivers and waterways.  These waterways attracted Native Americans who were the first residents of the area.  The waterways provided food and transportation for these early settlers.  German immigrant, Charles Maria Weber, came to mine gold in 1848.  Quickly, he discovered that catering to the needs of the miners in the area would be a more profitable occupation.  The city was founded in 1849 with land purchased through the Spanish land grant program.  Recently, positions such as counselor  Stockton CA have provided the residents with a resource to move beyond their pain and resolve outstanding issues.  Early names for the town included Mudville and Gas City before being named Stockton, in honor of Commodore Robert F.
