Creating your health miracle, how to stop contributing to your illness and take back control of your health and well-being

What would happen if you had the power to create your own health miracle? From the moment of my Fibromyalgia diagnosis I have been on a quest for information on this misunderstood chronic pain condition. I have accumulated lists of symptoms and research, medications and alternative treatments. My days revolve around constant debilitating pain which I fight every step of the way. I can't remember what it's like to not feel pain. But I've come to realize that I'm not helping myself. Nothing I've done up to this point has improved my illness, in fact, it has continued to worsen. So if all the research, doctors and treatments haven't helped improve my ability to function in my daily life, what will?

Contributing to illness

I've begun to see how everything I do, see, talk and think about has involved concentrating on the pain and not my health. Yes, I want to be healthy, I want to not be in pain every second of every day, but my attention has always been on the pain. What would happen if I only concentrated on my health? What if my thoughts revolved around my physical abilities that I'm grateful for and not the ones I've lost? What if my mental dialogue included how strong and healthy I am, rather than how everything I enjoyed has been ripped away ?

I like to think back to the story of Mother Teresa declining to attend an anti-war rally. But she said that when a peace rally was held she would be happy to attend. The end goal is the same, but the mental process is vastly different. While one concentrates on the war itself, the other concentrates on peace. It's no different when dealing with a chronic illness. You'll get results with both approaches, and the end goal for each is the same . But the results for one is more illness, while the other is health. This is where I've had it all wrong. I need to change my thought process.

Changing the way you think

Not an easy thing to do, but possible. We, the medical community and patients, strive for awareness of our illnesses. How is that going to help? We need to rally for awareness of health, of love, of joy. I've seen this work in my own life with finances and love . Why its taken me this long to open my eyes in order to put the law of attraction to use in regards to my health is beyond me. But this is where I'm at.

I will admit that falling into depression is far easier than working on changing your perspective on your health. You feel your body has betrayed you, is causing you undeniable pain and anguish. How exactly are you going to be grateful for that?

Becoming more grateful

Can you walk? Breath air in and out of your lungs? Use your arms, your eyes, your ears, your taste buds? Can you see color? Listen to music? Have a conversation with a friend or loved one? Find the things you can do, and be grateful for them. Make a list and make copies of it to tape up all over your home. Write personal affirmations that you can put up in your bathroom mirror, carry on you or in your car. It doesn't matter, just make sure they're in places you'll see. Cut our images of health and put them everywhere. And for 30 days make the agreement with yourself that you'll read your list and say your affirmations each and every day, and really try to feel the love and joy towards yourself in what you are reading . And by the end of your 30 days, take stock of your health. You'll be amazed. It won't cost you anything to try, and that's all that's being asked of you, just try.

Look at your environment

Are there things in your life that contribute to your illness in your environment? Do you listen to and read the news daily? Stop. Do you have friends that only want to complain about everything that is wrong in their  lives? Distance yourself from them. Pay attention to what you see, hear and read for the next 30 days. If it is contributing to a feeling of lack, of something that's wrong or missing - stay away from it.

Stay strong in your desire to experiment with this strategy for the next 30 days. It will become easier and easier for you and the rewards are truly priceless.
