Goodyear Arizona is located just west of Phoenix, but its small-town feel and short leap from the metropolis makes it an excellent location for family recreation. The city boasts just less than 50,000 residents, and is progressively growing. If the town’s name seems to ring a bell, then you’ve uncovered a clue into Goodyear’s short, yet rich history. In 1917, the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company purchased just 16,000 acres of land for cotton. The city did not officially become a city until 1985. Regardless, today’s town is booming both in residents and attraction. Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Indians even relocated their spring training facility to Goodyear AZ, a testament to its appeal. Perhaps the most interesting and unique aspect of the town is that it hosts the world’s largest collection of antique bibles. The Bible Museum 1 is home to bibles whose origins lie in the 16th and 17th centuries, and even showcases Old Testament scriptures on sheepskin scrolls.

The outcome is youth who are empowered by their cultural traditions to say no to risky behaviors. For additional details about the program, call 928-214-0120.3

Recovering from an addiction can be a long, difficult process. Monthly meetings and a 12-step program are offered for free to anyone who is committed to stop using. Taking a strengths-based approach, members of the organization find hope in a common cause.
