Some 8,000 years ago archaeological evidence shows that settlements were near the Alex Fraser Bridge, completed in 1986 for the World Expo, which provided North Delta with a new route to North Deltaminster.  In 1791 Europeans sighted the land that was named ‘Delta’ in 1879 which designated Ladner as its administrative centre. The most common religion here is Christian.  Counselling North Delta is a safe, therapeutic process for individuals and families of all ages.  The gold rush of 1858 attracted settlers to this land and the Ladner brothers of Cornwall, England saw the potential for the rich soils of the Fraser River Delta as agricultural potential and promised themselves to return.  In 1859 James Kennedy claimed acreage on the south of the Fraser near North Deltaminster and the Ladners returned in 1868 for their claim.
