First 5 Placer is a public organization that was created after California passed the "Children and Families Act." Programs that increase infant, toddler, and child safety are available, as are parental services that increase resiliency, patience, and parenting skills. Current Initiatives
The Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) is a mental health services initiative to improve mental health care in California. In Roseville, the MHSA is the primary impetus for the Campaign for Community Wellness. The overarching mission of the campaign is to provide support for traditional and non-traditional mental health services in Placer County. The campaign seeks to inform the public about mental illness and reduce the stigma of living with a psychological disorder. Suicide prevention programs are another key component of the campaign, as are services for older members of the community.4
