I use EMDR, a mind-body form of psychotherapy, that helps clients connect with themselves, resolve trauma, experience freedom from anxiety and panic, build inner tools for comforting and empowering themselves, and create and hold beliefs about themselves and their lives that filled with hope. As a perinatal mental health specialist, I love that EMDR is a powerful healing tool that helps new parents feel at peace as they adjust to their new chapter.

Therapy is not a one size fits all experience. Though I extensively trained to understand specific theories of practice, I utilize a "prescriptive" approach. This means I will adapt to your needs in treatment. Therapy is co-created, it is relational, and it is in the therapeutic relationship where we seek personal growth to apply outside the therapy room. I work with adult individual clients who are grieving a significant loss, LGBTIQ+ adults, adults with creative blocks, neurodivergent adults, people pleasers, those recovering from trauma, and adults burnt out about their work.

I enjoy working with adults and adolescents and specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm and other maladaptive behaviors (including underlying issues of anxiety, depression and trauma), which may be preventing my clients from living a life of inner peace and enjoying fulfilling connections with others. In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we look at the underlying concept, which is that your thoughts and feelings play a fundamental role in your behavior. For example, if you spend a lot of time thinking about plane crashes, runway accidents, and other air disasters, you may find yourself avoiding air travel. The goal of cognitive behavior therapy is to teach you that while you cannot control every aspect of the world around you, you can take control of how you interpret and deal with things in your environment.

I provide more in-depth psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which deals with unconscious motivations, defenses and projections. I look at early attachment and how our difficulties in early relationships contribute to psychopathology and problems in our present relationships.
