The district is committed to offering preventative health programs to the residents area communities. For children, BCHD facilitates school-based programs that teach children about healthy living, including how to effectively deal with bullies, how to eat healthy, and how to resist peer pressure to drink alcohol and use drugs. For adults, BCHD provides low or no-cost medical services for those who are poor or uninsured. Older adults receive services as well, including home-based visits from qualified care workers.
