Marriage and Couples Mental Health in Sherman Oaks

Many individuals suffer from an eating disorder. However, 95 percent of people with anorexia or bulimia are children and young adults between the ages of 12 and 25. Anorexia is the third most common chronic illness among young girls. Eating disorders are almost as common in high schools as drug and alcohol abuse. Family influences are among the many risk factors for the development of an eating disorder.2 As a result, couples and family therapy and other family-based interventions are often necessary in order to help a family member overcome their eating disorder.

In particular, the Help Group specializes in the treatment of childhood conditions such as ADHD, Autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional problems. The Help Group offers transitional programs for adolescents with special needs who are moving into young adulthood.
