Englewood is located in the state of Colorado and proves to hold its own in terms of attractions and entertainment venues. This area is excellent for children, teenagers, and adult family members to settle down. Here you will find a Civic Center that holds community events throughout the entire year. Similarly, the CityCenter Amphitheater is another essential site at which festivals and concerts are held. Be sure to check out the calendar of events for each of these two locations to plan your next family trip. On the other hand, the Belleview Park and Children's Farm is a perfect spot for the entire family. Here you and your family can ride the train, pet animals, and even play horseshoes. Mental Health in Englewood

Mental health issues are common in Englewood, as they are in many other communities in the greater Denver area. Over the past several years, between 34-36 percent of Denver area residents report having multiple poor mental health days each month. These numbers rise as income decreases. Additionally, minority populations tend to experience a greater number of poor mental health days than do Caucasian residents of Englewood. As a result, the Denver metropolitan area, including Englewood, has high rates of suicide and large percentages of people in need of mental health care living without the services they need.2

Alcohol addiction is a highly common mental health issue in the Denver metropolitan area. To assist those struggling with this issue, the Denver Area Central Committee of Alcoholics Anonymous acts as a central point for obtaining resources and information about AA meetings throughout the city. The committee is responsible for receiving calls about AA, disseminating information about AA, offering AA literature for sale, and maintaining a list of local organizations that hold AA meetings. Providing these resources gives alcoholics a better chance at recovery and overcoming their addiction. For more information, please direct inquiries to 303-322-4440.3

Current Initiatives

Mental Health America of Colorado (MHAC) has a long history of working with legislative bodies, public organizations, and private agencies to develop and implement initiatives that improve the quality and access to mental health care. MHAC's latest initiative is the creation of the Colorado Mental Wellness Network. MHAC recognized that many individuals suffering from mental illness in Englewood and the Denver metropolitan area lacked an independent voice with regard to the mental health services they required. The Colorado Mental Wellness Network is intended to provide that voice and empower those impacted by mental illness.4
