Lakewood has community partnership opportunities available to businesses. The opportunities range from arts and culture, to recreation and environment. The programs serve everyone from the youth through the senior citizens of Lakewood. Different community events where businesses can sponsor include concerts in the park, outdoor adventure races or the city’s signature event—Cider Days1. The city makes the sponsorship levels reasonable, so that all different types of businesses can participate. Other projects include one-time events, such as events in parks, the recreation centers or cultural centers. This is more of a free-spirited project, one that the business believes their special skills are and how it can best be served in the community. Some past projects have included “Adopt-a-Trail” and Earth Day celebrations. Of course, on-going programs such as kid’s sports are an area where a business can sponsor and be recognized for their involvement in the community.
