Often used interchangeably with the term "counselling" psychotherapy is a type of therapy designed to help you achieve a greater sense of personal well-being, happiness, and satisfaction in life. Through conversation in the counselling room, you will have the opportunity to engage in self-reflection with a professional who understands the challenges associated with personal growth. This is a process where you do not receive advice or a "how-to" manual but rather the psychotherapist acts as a navigator on your journey to self-discovery and growth.

About Moncton, NB

Lakeburn, Riverview, Pine Glen, Indian Mountain, Lower Coverdale, Coverdale

Moncton is located in New Brunswick and one of the most populous cities in NB with around 125,000 people.  It is the second largest metropolitan area, next to Halifax, and one of the fastest growing areas in Canada.  Moncton is in the southeast area of New Brunswick near the Petitcodiac River.  The city is nicknamed the “Hub City” due to its central location, including the being a hub for railway and other land transportation for the Maritime Provinces.  Founded in 1766, it was initially an agricultural area. A Counselor Moncton, NB brings individuals to a place of resolution as you tackle the difficulties in your life.  The city became incorporated in 1855 and was name after Lt. Col. Robert Monckton.  By the mid 1800s, the city’s shipbuilding industry grew but ended up collapsing in the 1860s.  The city went through several periods of highs and lows during the 1800s.  The biggest being the collapse of the shipbuilding industry in the 1860s and the closure of the CNR locomotive shops in the 1980s.

The first settlers in the area were the French Acadians in the 1670s at the Bay of Fundy.  It wasn’t until the early 1700s when more settlers moved into the Petitcodiac and Memramcook river valleys, finally reaching Moncton around 1733.  In 1755, Fort Beausejour, which was close to the area, was captured by English forces, led by Lt. Col. Robert Monckton.  The city had gone through some tough times. For individuals facing struggles, a Christian counsellor Moncton, NB helps individuals develop a positive path to move beyond the struggles that are holding them back.  The shift in industries from agriculture, to wood shipbuilding, to the locomotive industry helped to revive the city, but also saw its hardships with the rise and fall of those industries.  It was in the early 1990s when the information technology industry, primarily call centers moved into the area, which took advantage of the bilingual workforce.  By the late 1990s, the city was experiencing diversified growth through retail, manufacturing and service expansion.  Moncton had more than made up for the loss of employment with the collapse of the locomotive industry a decade earlier.
