We look at feelings, beliefs, expectations and yearnings in how you have made meaning of your life. We also acknowledge you vast resources that you have access to in order to change into who you would like to become.

Sometimes we can become ‘tangled up’ in our thoughts, or the challenges we face; negatively impacting our day-to-day life. Engaging in psychotherapy (or ‘talk counselling’) with a qualified professional can be a beneficial way to get ‘untangled’, and to get back on track with your well-being. I work with youth (ages 13+), adults, and parents/caregivers who are seeking to overcome difficulties associated with eating, body image, anxiety and depression. Together we can work towards better understanding the problems that are holding you back, while developing new insights, self-awareness, and positive coping.

In our process, we combine the dynamics of ‘Life coaching’ and ‘Psychotherapy. Life Coaching is a new change process of the Twenty-First Century. It has been traditionally associated with sports. However, when one considers the importance of a respectful approach to personal and professional relationships, the coaching dynamic intentionally attempts to build on rapport and encouragement. A coaching psychotherapist, who has the best interests of their client in mind, does not perceive their client as “what is wrong with you?” but rather “what have you got going for you”? The client or “coachee” is asked key questions thereby challenging the “coachee” to find answers from within him/herself based ....

As a gestalt psychotherapist, who pairs gestalt training with somatic experiencing I can help support you in healing from your trauma. No one in the Niagara Region utilizes the combination of these therapies and applies them to working with couples in crisis. I am sorry to say but popular approaches to healing trauma like CBT will provide only temporary relief at best. If you want to get to the root of your trauma and heal somatic experiencing (SE) is what you need and when supported with the power of relational gestalt therapy you will shift your shit! SE focuses on regulating your nervous system. Gestalt focuses on awareness, contact and authenticity, it will help being relational.
