The Our Lady of Mercy Direct Outreach Services provide an array of assistance programs for families with a variety of needs. A food pantry, clothes closet, and emergency financial assistance help families meet basic needs and remove stressors associated with poverty. Educational programs, including GED courses, literacy classes, and life skills trainings promote the knowledge and skills families need in order to tend to tasks of daily living. Home visits by Our Lady of Mercy staff ensure that homes are safe, and that each family member has the services they need to be healthy, happy, and function at an optimal level. For family members that need additional guidance and support, the organization hosts several support groups, including weekly Al-Anon meetings.
