Prince Albert, the third largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada, is located in the middle of the province.  The city is known as the “Gateway to the North” since it is the last major centre in northern Saskatchewan.  Henry Kelsey came through the area in 1692, with the first establishment being a trading post set up by Peter Pond in 1776.   But it was in 1862 when James Isbister settled there, farming the area till 1866.  Counselling Prince Albert, SK is a restoratative process designed to help you move through problems that have impeded your ability to live with freedom and happiness. This brought more settlers, who set up a community, and named it after Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, husband of Queen Victoria.  The area went through some turmoil with the Northwest Rebellion and the Battle of Batoche, where a lot of casualties were sustained.  In 1885 the town was incorporated, and in 1904, the settlement was incorporated as a city. Prince Albert was the capital of the District of Saskatchewan until 1905, when Saskatchewan became a province.
