The Nicholson Memorial Library System offers several branches and wide variety of services in Garland, TX. The Central Library is open 7 days a week while branches are closed on Sunday and Monday. Marriage and Couples Mental Health in Garland

The Garland Volleyball Association (GVA) develops youth programs for the community, using athletics as a focus for developmental skills, promoting the values of good sportsmanship and teamwork, and as a catalyst for better health. The St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Garland maintains a community food pantry for residents in the region. The pantry is open from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday, and is powered by donations and volunteers. The St. Michael Food Pantry feeds about 50 families a week during most of the year, and provides special meals to an even larger number of families during the holiday season.
