Marriage and Couples Mental Health in Garland
The Garland Volleyball Association (GVA) develops youth programs for the community, using athletics as a focus for developmental skills, promoting the values of good sportsmanship and teamwork, and as a catalyst for better health. The City of Garland Parks & Recreation Department maintains two senior services centers in Garland: The Carver Senior Center, and the Senior Activity Center.4 Maintaining an active social life and participating in educational and recreational opportunities can be a key element in remaining healthy and happy during one’s senior years. Family Services and Assistance Programs
The St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church of Garland maintains a community food pantry for residents in the region. The pantry is open from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, Monday through Friday, and is powered by donations and volunteers. The St. Michael Food Pantry feeds about 50 families a week during most of the year, and provides special meals to an even larger number of families during the holiday season.
