Cheyenne has implemented a Youth Alternative program that responds to the needs of children ages 5 to 17 years old that may be experiencing some rough times. The program is designed to intervene to help restore some positive experiences in their lives. The city calls on volunteers to help mentor these young people through getting involved in Community Challenge Course, which is a confidence builder through taking risks. The Y.E.S. Club is another avenue where mentors help out. This is a Youth, Education and Sports Club. The city also supports the parks department that provides different recreational activities for the residents of the city, such as golf courses, parks, pools, a botanic garden, and different sports activities for both adults and youth. There is something for everyone to have fun and enjoy the different aspects of the city.1
