In addition to providing a safe place to live for up to 90 days, the facility provides food, clothing and other necessities for men, women and children. Located in a rural setting, the agency is a welcoming and friendly environment that seems more like a home. To ensure the continued growth, prosperity and mental health of Olympia's residents, the city participates in the Mason Thurston Wraparound Initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to ensure that families in need have access to all the resources required for a safe, stable, and healthy home environment. The primary belief of initiative participants is that wraparound services promote empowerment and creates opportunities for family members to improve themselves and their relationships with others. The initiative is based on the principles of cultural competence, collaboration, community involvement, individual strengths, and family voice and choice, among others.
