Meet Bonnie Dyste

Hi! I am a Certified Clinical Counsellor and love journeying with people through their challenging times, moving from emotional pain to a life of peace, joy and fulfillment.

As your counsellor, it is my honour to offer you support, guidance and several skills to help make change possible and sustainable in your life. I desire to journey with you towards achieving your goals. I can help you gain perspective on your self, your past, and your relationships, by exploring various aspects of your life and relationships, as well as how they influence each other. It is my belief and hope that this will help you to experience a more fulfilling life.

My style is warm, compassionate and transparent. Let’s journey together moving you towards fulfilling your goals.

Philosophy

I have had many opportunities to engage with others in individual and relationship counselling in various seasons of their journey. As a result, I have developed a deep respect for the courage shown by clients in seeking therapy, and consider it a great privilege to work alongside them through these challenging times. Whether you are in a time of growth, new transition, closure, grief or in the midst of relationship storms, I will join with you to provide support and empowerment for change. My goal is to create a therapeutic environment that is both sensitive and safe, and that is uniquely suited to your personal growth. I use the systemic approach, which helps you to consider the possible impacts of multiple areas of your life including family, partners, children, friends, spirituality, health, or work atmosphere, and how these affect the way you see yourself and others. I will join with you whether you are looking to reach an important decision, heal from past hurts, or create new patterns in your life.

I understand that building a long term relationship has its challenges and can sometimes feel overwhelming. I seek to join couples on this journey and provide opportunity to heal and strengthen growth and intimacy. Relationship and marriage counselling can be a wonderful time to build trust, resolve conflict and reach mutual relationship satisfaction.

My ultimate goal is to assist marriages and families to become stronger and healthier. The damage done to individuals and families by divorce or turmoil in the home is in epidemic proportions in our culture and drastically affects the fabric of the family.  Anchoring parents and children in strong, healthy families means that the next generation will be able to weather the inevitable storms and emerge better prepared to pass on core values as well as hope to the next generation.
