When you enter my office, it is my goal you feel cared for and accepted for where you are in life. I enjoy walking along beside you on the  journey to achieve the goals you want to achieve but just need a little support to get there. After all, we are only human and all need a little help and support from time to time.

Current career experience

It is my privilege to provide therapy for men, women, children and adolescents in  private practice. I have such a varied counseling background, it allows me to assist with various life challenges.

Career experience with adults of all ages

I have provided therapy to adults in a wide variety of settings. My experience includes community service, and crisis counseling. I began my own private practice a little over 2 years ago. In general, I enjoy helping people achieve their goals.

I find that working with children supports my work with adults. Due to my understanding and ability to work with children, it provides helpful insight into assisting adults at addressing problems that began in their childhood.

Career experience with children, adolescents and families

Since my first MA degree is in education, it was natural to begin my counseling career working with children and adolescents. I seem to have a gifting to work with children as they relate well to me. My initial experience as a therapist was to work with youth that due to behavioral and mental health issues were at risk of being removed from their home. Working with these children, I learned the integral need to involve the entire family to help a child heal. I earned a reputation at this employment as a clinical therapist that could take on the most severe cases and work in families with a high need for services. One child that I worked with was in the foster system had been placed in her 3rd foster home. Her foster mother told me she initially wanted to adopt this child but she had changed her mind because of the child’s behavior. After working with this child, she was adopted by this family and now has an awesome home. I received a Christmas card from her mother with a family picture in which she wrote “thank you for helping to create our family”. Those are the memories from the early years of my experience I cherish.
