I detain a Master's in Counselling and Spirituality from St-Paul's University (Ottawa, ON - 2009).  I also have a post-graduate diploma in Couple's Counselling.  Over the years, I have worked in various counselling settings (EAP, Youville Centre, University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine, women's shelter - among others) allowing me to gain valuable experience working with a variety of issues and with diverse populations.  I primarily work with older adolescents, adults and couples within my private practice.  I have experience working with Indigenous and First Nations people, first responders, military members and veterans.  I also frequently work with victims of crime, trauma and violence and receive cases through the Victim Quick Response Program - operated through the Ministry of the Attorney General of Ontario.

My practice is supervised by a registered psychologist (in the province of Ontario), allowing me to offer receipts (for certain populations only) that will be accepted by most health care benefit providers (please inquire with your provider in order to determine if you can submit receipts from a Registered Psychotherapist or a Registered Psychotherapist supervised by a Registered Psychologist and if you require a referral from your family physician prior to accessing private counselling services).

I work from a client-centred approach, working collaboratively with my clients in determining their goals for therapy.  I integrate a variety of theories and tools in working with my clients, since I believe a multi-disciplinary approach often works best.  No problem is too big or too small to take that first step to reach out for help and support.  I will work with you to help you feel empowered and able to navigate whatever difficult situations you might be facing.

I recognize that some individuals might not have health care benefits at their place of work and/or are in more constrained financial positions.  I currently supervise interns in my private practice, offering sliding-scale rates.  This allows clients to access the mental health support that they might need but at a cost that they can afford.

Appointment times are also flexible and several evening and weekend appointments are available.  Services are available in-person (when it will be safe to resume given the global pandemic) or via telephone or secure video platform.

For additional information or to book an appointment, I can be reached at 613-317-2179 or via email at info@feelingbetter.ca
