More about my approach to therapy;

I believe most trouble, discomfort and pain results from blocks and stagnation in our relationships; whether in relating to your sense of self, to another, or to the world around you. Your sense of well-being and happiness is determined by the quality and depth of these multiple connections. Knowing this gives you a starting point, a place to focus when hoping to increase your peace and well-being.

As you work to restore, repairing, and rediscover these connections, you experience a deeper more satisfying relationship with yourself and others. As you learn to truly be  more present with your body' sensations; its energy, emotions, and inner wisdom, you become more fully alive and connect more honestly and freely with others and the natural world.

In therapy, we simply slow down and with compassion and acceptance work to guide your attention inward. Through the arts of mindfulness and active listening we can begin to create enough space to look at ourselves and others in a more accepting way. This often radiates to all areas of our life, simultaneously improving many of our relationships

I am a Focusing Oriented Therapist.

Focusing is a way of relating directly to your body's sense of an issue. It helps the body and mind work together in a way that allows more to be revealed  about an issue or situation in your life. Guiding you through the Focusing process will enable you to access greater insight and intelligence around any thing you are going through or have been through.

What to expect?

Therapy is empowering, challenging and deeply rewarding.

Our time together will be centered on identifying the stuck points or blocks to your sense of peace and well-being. We will discover what’s important to you and create a goal and plan around whatever that may be. I will always seek first to understand as fully as possible your view of any situation. Then we'll work to identify behaviors and old beliefs that are either unhelpful or that were maybe helpful  once but no longer serve you. Finally we will move forward by allowing fresh new insights to emerge.
