It take a lot of courage to reach out to a therapist. Making the initial contact and the first appointment can be downright frightening. This is something I understand well, and I strive to create a space for clients to tell their story - whatever that story may be. I have listened to many stories over the years, and I have also had chances to tell my own story to others. I believe that we all want to be understood, accepted, and comforted in our pain. Understanding my clients is my first priority as a therapist.

I hold a master's degree from George Fox University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to earning my master's degree, I completed a bachelor's degree in psychology. I went back to school after being a homemaker for many years. It wasn't easy to step back into school, but I knew that I had a dream, and that dream was to be the best counselor I could be to help others. After completing my bachelor's degree, I volunteered as a crisis line call worker for almost three years. I found it an honor and a privilege to sit with people in their pain. It was a life-altering experience and I knew that counseling was something I wanted to make my life's work.

One of the things that is important to me as a therapist is to do what is best for the client. I realize that every client is unique and I adapt the services I provide to the person. I am creative in my approach and I pull in art work or other mediums if it isbeneficial to the client. I eagerly seek after new ways of doing things and I am constantly learning and growing myself. I am intuitive in my work, and I trust my gut instincts and hunches as much as my learned knowledge. I also check in with my clients to see what insights they have. It is my belief that clients already possess everything they need to be successful, I just

facilitate the process. I have been thanked by many clients for providing a safe space for them to explore the more difficult issues in their lives. I have been described many times as "vulnerable, open, and authentic."

I have provided services for children, teens, individuals, couples, and families. I completed course work in play therapy, child/parent relationship therapy, family therapy, couples therapy, and addictions in my time at George Fox. I sought additional training in EMDR and Gottman method couple's therapy. I am also a co-founder for a small non-profit organization that strives to promote healthy intimacy, and educate about porn addiction and sex addiction.

I am passionate about helping relationships thrive. I enjoy working with couples to help them create deeply intimate relationships! I provide couples tools to navigate conflict, build friendship, and share life on more meaningful terms. I also enjoy watching parent/child relationships grow and improve.
I have found that EMDR therapy can be beneficial in helping individuals sort through their life story. EMDR has an

amazing capacity to help individuals process the big and little traumas in life. EMDR helps clients move forward to create a brighter future.
I look forward to meeting with you!
