Stephanie Smith-Jefferson is Assistant Director, Clinical Director and Licensed Professional Counselor at Crossroads Counseling Center in the Jackson MS metropolitan area. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Master’s degree in Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling from Sarah Lawrence College. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Board Certified Telemental Health Provider. She has received additional graduate work in clinical psychology and graduate training for Christian Sex Therapy and Sexual Addiction Specialist, gender issues, trauma, abuse and couples communication training. She has also completed Level I and II EMDR training. Mrs. Smith-Jefferson has an extensive background in helping individuals and families cope with the joys, sorrows and pain encountered in their life’s journey. She has served as a consultant and speaker to many organizations. She donates her time to and is a board member of an organization that assists women who have been or are victims of intimate partner violence. As a Christian and staff member of a Christian counseling center she believes and holds firm to the ethos that as a recipient of God's grace, mercy and forgiveness that she is do the same by being gracious, sensitive, compassionate and considerate to others. She is actively involved in her church and community. She and her husband have been married for over 34 years and have 2 children. As a wife and parent, she understands the complexities of maintaining a loving, respectful marriage while raising children and working.
