My treatment and counseling approach is to provide support with insight and feedback to help my clients address anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship issues, life transitions, current challenges and long-standing issues.

I work with individuals, families, couples, children ages 4-12, adolescents ages 13-18, and adults to bring resolution to a wide range of life challenges and issues.

I take a nonjudgmental approach and work with you on focusing on life's possibilities rather than past mistakes.

My unique skill is accepting people for who they are. I will work with you to set your own goals for therapy and help you build on your individual strengths to achieve your life goals.

I specialize in working with children and adolescents, couples, trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, and couples counseling.

I am conveniently located in Palos Heights with easy access, free and plentiful parking, and an elevator which takes you right to my second floor office.

I am an Illinois native and raised my family here, but a large portion of my experience has been in California. I have had 19 years of experience working in the field of mental health which includes the following:
  • Working with battered women and co-leading parenting classes in my trainee ship at Women's Resource Center in Oceanside, California.
  • Following graduation from my Master's program, I worked for the County of San Diego Health and Human Services as a Case Manager/CSW for the Medically Fragile Unit, Continuing Services (Child Protective Services).
  • Working in my internship with children and adolescents and their families in school-based and home-based mental health through Harbor View Community Services Center in Long Beach, California.

After I became licensed in California in 2005 to practice independently, my post-licensure work included:
  • Designated Instructional Services Counselor at a nonpublic school in Los Angeles, CA, working with youth whose behavior caused them to be expelled from the Los Angeles public schools.
  • Clinical Supervisor to MFT interns at Alafia Mental Health in Los Angeles, CA helping them gain experience and clinical hours necessary to sit for their California state board exams.
  • Helping children and teens and their families referred to me from the City of Torrance Police Department Juvenile Diversion program.
  • Treating Victims of Crime who were referred to me in Los Angeles and Riverside County from the State of California Victim Compensation Board. Treatment was primarily for PTSD.
  • Providing counseling services to a multitude of active military families which included marriage, family, and individual counseling.
  • As a Certified Provider through the California Problem Gambling Treatment Service Program, providing counseling services to problem gamblers referred through the State of California Office of Problem Gambling.

In 2012, my husband and I moved to Kilgore Texas for my husband's job.  I acquired a Texas LMFT license and opened a practice in Kilgore where I continued working in private practice primarily with couples and individuals.

In 2014, my husband passed away and I moved back to my home state of Illinois where I became licensed and opened a private practice in Palos Heights, IL in 2016.
