Approach
The Therapy Heals counselling team believe that each individual client is the expert of their own life and has within them the ability to improve their issues and live a fulfilling life. With the individual as the expert of their life and the therapist as the expert in various therapy modalities and problem areas, guidance is provided and this collaborative approach leads to the best possible outcomes.
Amelia and her counselling team support Clients in finding realistic solutions that suit their life and who they are. They aim to cultivate a sense of safety and security for clients so that clients may feel comfortable speaking their mind and therefore can obtain maximum benefits from the therapy sessions. The Therapy Heals team focuses on the use of a non-judgemental approach in which they work to help clients feel empowered so that they can experience personal growth both during and beyond therapy. In addition, at Therapy Heals, counsellors help clients to articulate and monitor progress towards their counselling or therapy goals so that they can see the benefits of attending counselling.
Amelia’s extensive background in health care and quality keep her committed to the use of research based practice as a standard at Therapy Heals. This means that the Therapy Heals counselling team makes use of approaches that have been demonstrated in research to be effective. Clients can expect to engage in a respectful and collaborative approach in which they will develop and strengthen skills and life tools that can be used beyond therapy, contributing to an improved sense of wellness.
