I have a Master's degree from McMaster Divinity College at McMaster University in Hamilton, and have completed a two year internship in marriage and family therapy. I am a Certified Member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care and will be eligible for registration with College of Registered Pschotherapists in Ontario when it opens to registration in the spring of 2014. I have worked with individuals, couples and families all my professional career: as a pastor, hospital chaplain and in private therapy practice.
My approach is to help people to understand themselves better, and to become more aware of what is limiting them in their relationships, personal, or working life; always with the goal of helping people to become more authentic and self-aware. With greater self-awareness comes the possibility of making more conscious choices both for ourselves and in the relationships that matter to us. I have a special interest in working with men who want to be more conscious, loving and alive.
My approach focuses on the here and now, and what it can teach us. I am interested in people's history but mostly in how it impacts the present. I believe we do the best we know how and try to be the best we can be, but come up against patterns and blind spots that limit us. I work to help clients understand what's getting in the way of them being the person, the parent or the partner that they want to be.
