Current Initiatives

Live Well San Diego is a 10-year health initiative organized by over 50 San Diego County departments. By garnering widespread public and private support, the goal of the program is to bring awareness to the root causes of physical and mental illness and address the rising cost of health care. Protecting community members from all forms of abuse is a primary undertaking of the project. Additionally, the program seeks to educate the public about the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. The wellness and prevention component of the Affordable Care Act fits nicely into the overall goals of the program.5
