Mental Health in Caledon
The town of Caledon is located in the Regional Municipality of Peel, which is a part of Ontario. The population was most recently recorded (in 2011) at almost 60,000 people within 688 square kilometers. This is not a very dense population with only 86.4people living per square kilometer, but the beautiful area has much to offer�it has attracted more people to live here and the area has seen a 4.2% increase since the last census.
Mental health in this region is fairly good, but there are some concerns. Autism and other conditions like it have been seen somewhat more frequently here than in other areas. There are many different services and organizations that constantly work with Autistic residents and their families; you can find some of these through Autism Ontario, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the health of those who are living with Autism.2
One other organization that helps counsel people with mental illnesses and help communities to grow is Caledon Community Services. They help people to be engaged and to pursue their dreams, ambitions, and achieve their goals. This is very important to the community and has helped the area grow and thrive. Current Education
Education is a top priority in this town, and they recognize how important it is to have good schools in order to teach young people things that they will need in the real world. The area has over 17 public schools that are all dedicated to helping students and the community to grow and flourish throughout their lives.4
