I would like to introduce myself. I am Deryl Goldenberg, a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working in the field for 30 years with Couples, Family issues. I have offices in Santa Monica and in the San Fernando Valley. I started out in the 1980's working with children's emotional problems and their parents, and then moved on to running therapy groups for men. After a short time I began running Men's Therapy Groups in Vancouver, Canada, and did so for 10 years. The men dealt with: Work and Marriage Difficulties (communication conflicts, expressing emotion, managing aggression, dealing with depression, and anxiety, etc.) .
A dear friend invited me and my family to California and I ended up moving to Los Angeles, California and completed my doctorate in Psychology and became a licensed Clinical Pychologist. I expanded my work with children in the 1990's to include children on the Autistic Spectrum, and their parents. I created an agency in 2002, (Verdugo Hills Austim Project) specializing in working with children with developmental delays, and helped parents identify and address their parenting difficulties and obstacles, so that they could be more effective guiding their children. From this work with parents I began working with couples doing marital therapy.
Currently I am doing individual psychotherapy (depression and anxeity related issues) and couples therapy (learning how to face, and work through anger and emotional conflicts). I also contiue my work with children with developmental and emotional difficulties, that interfere with their ability to form close relationships.
