If you are
experiencing anxiety, you do not have to continue to suffer. And
suffering it is. Having had anxiety myself as a child and for many years
as an adult, I know that suffering. Often anxiety seems to 'run in families'
and sometimes there are stressors that trigger the anxiety and then sometimes
there just doesn't seem to be any explanation.
Whatever the
reason, anxiety can be decreased and often significantly. Whether you
suffer with anxiety or whether it is your child who is suffering, there is
help, and things can get better.
As a parent, I know
the joys and blessings of having a child. I also know the fears and worries
that come along with loving a child. Finding the balance between the
worrying, trying to make everything perfect, and then letting go when you need
to, is always a balancing act. It was, and still is for me. No
matter what the age of your child... loving and caring, and worrying too, are
all part of being a parent.
An important job for
us as parents is to make sure we take care of ourselves. We need to make
sure that we are healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, if
we expect and want happy lives for our children. That's the best thing we
can offer them. We cannot be perfect, but they can still thrive with
their imperfect parents; giving them the best of ourselves is what we can
do.
The more I can help
you to take care of yourself, the better the chance for you and your
child to live happy lives. We give them strength and confidence as they
learn from watching us, how important it is to take care of themselves too. To learn
