Just like working on your body with a trainer
leads to increased strength and flexibility, working on your mind and brain
using my cutting edge approach will lead to increased strength, clarity,
resilience, and lightness of being.
I have been practicing for 29 years and specialize in treating post-traumatic
stress disorder, attachment issues in relationships, grief, anxiety,
depression, and addictive patterns.
My approach to therapy is rooted in neurobiology and integrates Somatic
Experiencing® and EMDR into “talking therapy.” I focus on how both suffering
and a sense of well-being influence the Mind-Body-Spirit connection.
I will help you learn to regulate and manage feelings that overwhelm you and
negatively affect your thoughts, moods, and attitudes, and that, in turn, lead
to unwanted behavior. Healing can occur in a therapeutic relationship, through
the awareness that is born out of mindfully observing yourself while being
witnessed by another.
I work with individuals, couples, families, teens and children ages 7 and up,
and have worked extensively with military service members returning from Iraq
and Afghanistan, focusing on war experiences and their influences on their
relationships and families.
I am fluent in English, Spanish and German and understand the significant
effects one’s culture has on personal experiences and relationships.
Personally, I am guided by 15 years of meditation and a life-long practice of
yoga and dance.
