Are you dissatisfied with your current relationship or distraught about the end of a recent relationship? Have you had problems finding love, or maintaining a long-term romantic relationship? Do you tend to worry a lot, feel depressed or have low self-esteem? I believe that understanding our difficulties is a crucial step towards making enduring, positive changes. The aim of therapy is to gain an understanding into the issues that have held you back, recognize old, unrewarding patterns and find new and more productive ways of handling your personal affairs. My role as a therapist is to guide, encourage and support you in this process.
In therapy we will take a close look at your concerns, figure out what went wrong and strive to understand how past experiences may still interfere with the present. Together, we will search for ways to cope with your difficulties, and come up with a plan that will allow you to turn things around.
In my work with couples, I have found that intimate partners sometimes reach a point where the resentment they feel towards one another overshadows their love for each other. The purpose of couple counseling is to reverse this process and allow the warmth of the relationship to re-emerge.
