Jan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with the state of Washington (License LH00003741) and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She holds an additional specialization as a Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist. Jan is also a group therapist with extensive experience leading and facilitating group therapy sessions. Jan has been practicing professionally for 22 years.

Through therapy, Jan will give you constructive feedback, help you gain new insight into your life to make better choices, and give you effective tools to resolve issues. She will also work together with you to craft and put in place a practical plan that will help guide you through your journey, enabling you to reach your goals. You will also have the option of integrating a Christian faith perspective into your sessions if you desire.

Jan sees the therapeutic process as one characterized by openness and a collaborative partnership. Since each person is unique, treatment is specifically designed and adopted to the needs of each client. Jan uses an integrative approach in sessions, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and the Gottman model, using those components that are both highly regarded and well researched. In a collaborative partnership, clients are expected to participate in therapy, with a willingness to work both in and outside the counseling sessions.
