Jennifer R. Cardinal, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and a nationally certified school psychologist (NASP) who specializes in neuropsychology, school psychology, and autism.  She completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology Counseling and Guidance at Brigham Young University and later completed her Doctorate Degree in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuropsychology, at the University of Utah.  She has worked as a school counselor for the Salt Lake School District and spent several years as a school psychologist in the Jordan and Davis School districts. Later, she completed a post-doctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology at the Neuropsychology Center of Utah. While in her residency, Jennifer established an ongoing consultation relationship with Dr. Janiece Pompa, a clinical professor in Educational Psychology at the University of Utah and neuropsychologist in private practice.
Dr. Cardinal has experience assessing and providing therapy for children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of brain-based disorders such as ADHD, autism, nonverbal learning disorders, learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourette’s, trichotillomania, bipolar disorder, traumatic brain injury, and dementia.
Additionally, Dr. Cardinal has completed research related to the use of technology in enhancing the implementation of evidence-based practice for autism in the school setting. Currently, she continues her research practice by leading a study focused on developing executive functioning interventions for those with executive functioning deficits commonly associated with ADHD, autism, TBI and other disorders. Due to her expertise and diverse skills, Dr. Cardinal has presented for several organizations including topics on parenting, evidence-based interventions, executive functioning,  ADHD,  work rehabilitation, crises response for suicide, theory of mind and social thinking, autism, the use of technology to implement and assess interventions, classroom management, and special education.  Dr. Cardinal also serves on the board of UASP (Utah Association of School Psychologists).
