There are so many types of helping professionals in our society that are available to help us in our time of need. I believe that I am uniquely qualified to help you to resolve your concerns and issues in a focused and solution oriented way. I hold advanced Doctoral degrees in Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I hold three professional licenses and numerous specialty certifications that qualify me to provide professional services to you and your loved ones. Each client receives a comprehensive evaluation an individualized treatment plan and numerous self help programs to help you address the issues that you are seeking assistance for. I provide objective testing to accurately assess many types of concerns including mood disorders, stress, substance abuse, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, AD/HD and grief/loss and adjustment reactions to name a few. I use a varied treatment approach incorporating the latest treatment techniques so that you gain the maximum benefit from your treatment program.
I am currently providing evaluation, counseling and substance abuse services to individuals, groups and families in the greater Houston area. I own two counseling centers in north Houston and The Woodlands. I have 20 years of inpatient hospital experience serving on both psychiatric and substance abuse units within the hospitals. I previously owned and operated a Partial Hospital Program for chronically ill clients for two years. I provided outpatient counseling and substance abuse services for 25 years in the greater Houston area. Given all of my experience as a mental health professional, I am confident and very knowledgeable when I am providing services to my clients. I believe that it is my privilege to work with each client. I am both a clinical and Christian counselor and hold professional credentials in both areas of practice. Each client is able to select the approach that they would like to receive and I tailor my treatment plan and program to meet the unique needs of each and every client. I work pimarily with adults and do perform quality AD/HD evaluations on children, adolescents and adults.
I have been a Substance Abuse Professional for the past eight years for a variety of large companies in many areas of industry. I have been providing substance abuse evaluations for most of the major managed care companies including Value Options, Magellan Behavioral Health, CIGNA, and APS, and a variety of free standing EAP programs. I have provided over 500 trainings to companies. I have worked as a critical incident stress debriefer in over 500 on site critical incidents. I have actively provided services to companies during downsizings and layoffs and critical incidents. In addition, I worked as a school psychologist for five years and an EAP counselor at the Federal Aviation Administration, the United States Post Office and the United Space Alliance in Clear Lake City, Texas.
