Testimonials: "Julie is an amazing therapist...She made me feel like no matter what I came to her with, she would still be there for me". "Talk therapy is helpful... but EMDR is really where the magic happens." "I have out old [anxieties] to rest and am moving forward in my life with confidence and a sense of peace because of the work I did with her".

Julie is a warm, genuine, empathetic counsellor who works to build a safe, comfortable, non-judgemental environment for clients to explore their concerns. Using EMDR, Julie is able to help those struggling with post-traumatic stress panic attacks, complicated grief, disturbing memories, phobias, pain disorders, performance anxiety, stress reduction, addictions, depression, and sexual and/or physical abuse. The goal of EMDR therapy is to leave you with perspective, understanding, and feelings that will lead to healthy, useful behaviours.

In addition to EMDR, Julie uses a Person-Centered approach while utilizing Interpersonal dynamics and Cognitive, Behavioural strategies to help clients learn the skills to achieve their goals.  She also makes use of Positive Psychology techniques such as validations, affirmations, and meditations.  Julie assists clients in engaging their new skills by practicing role-plays during session to gain confidence in newly-found communication strategies to assist in making gains in their personal relationships.

Working collaboratively with her clients, personal therapeutic goals are achieved and community/family supports are encouraged to help support clients' personal growth in order to sustain changes made within therapy.
