Kathleen Pottkotter, Ph.D. is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Professional Counselor, Certified Cognitive Behavior Therapist, and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.  She maintains a private practice in Houston, Texas, and specializes in educational assessment and counseling services for children and their families.   With over 15 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of the University of Houston, Houston Baptist University, and Capella University, respectively, specializing in Educational Psychology and with an emphasis in Developmental Psychology, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are Anxiety Disorder, Attachment Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Childhood Behavior Disorders, Separation Anxiety Disorder, and Parental Skills Training. 

Dr. Pottkotter is a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help children  resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each child and his or her parents to help them develop new interpersonal skills.
