Hello, thanks for taking the time to read my bio.
I was trained as a marriage counselor with the Marriage Guidance Clinic in England in 1974, and moved to the USA with my family in 1977, where I did advanced schooling and training in both individual, couple and family therapy. As well as being a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, I am a Diplomate in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, and with my wife,Joan, am a member of the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment. I am licensed in WA and OR as a marriage and family therapist and in WA as a mental health counselor.
I founded Columbia Pastoral Counseling Center in 1981 and continue as the executive director, as
well as providing counseling and leading enrichment events.
In 2003 I wrote
“Couples and the Art of Playing” and provide couple playshops and other enrichment events to help couples improve their relationships by rediscovering the play they enjoyed when they were dating. If people are in a committed relationship then I want to see them together (except for domestic violence situations), as positive outcomes are more possible this way.
Except for groups I will see people every 2 to 3 weeks - I rarely see individuals or couples every week as I have found this can be expensive, create unhealthy dependency on the counselor and not give time to do the work between sessions that I believe is needed for healing to take place.
I can't change your past, but I can help you to live a more fulfilling life today and tomorrow.I am solution focused, and committed to helping you unlock your true potential and lead a great life.I am committed to providing quality professional pastoral counseling
atan affordable fee for everyone.
I have been happily married for over 40 years, have 3 wonderful adult children and 5 very special grandchildren with more on the way.
