Background

With 15 years of experience working with children, adolescences, and adults, in not-for-profit environments I offer a breadth of knowledge and approaches to meet your individual needs. In addition to private practice I work with children and families of violence as a Family Violence Coordinator, and I teach Psychology at Mohawk College of Applied Technology.

Working in both one to one, as well through group environments, I believe in finding the right fit for you and your loved ones to make change is essential to success.  As a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, I meet and exceed standards for service delivery, management of client files and maintaining individual confidentiality in practice delivery in Ontario.

In addition to my private practice, I work in the community delivering Partner Assault Response groups, I am a professor at Mohawk College within the Liberal Arts discipline, specifically for the subject area of Psychology. Finally, I work with full time the Family Counselling Centre Niagara as a Family Violence Therapist/ Coordinator.

Methods

With specialized training in the field of Trauma, I am well versed in a variety of modalities: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Art and Attachment.  This flexibility in treatment is essential to finding the right support for each client. This is about fitting to your needs, not having you fit the treatment.

Coverage
Many group health insurers will reimburse Registered Psychotherapist services upon request.  In some cases Insurers may ask therapists to register as a provider. I would be happy to connect with your insurer to assist in ease of access to service at any time. If you you have benefits coverage, I would encourage you to connect with your provider or your HR representative to ensure eligible coverage.

Receipts will be provided at the end of each session.  We are able to offer direct billing for Greenshield Canada members. Payment for session can either be made through direct billing to the insurer, cash, or credit. Please feel free to give me a call to discuss your specific needs.

In the case you find accessing services to be cost prohibitive, please feel free to connect with me, as in some cases we may be able to offer a sliding scale based on income.

Thank you for taking time to learn a bit more about me, and considering me in helping you with services. I look forward to hearing from you and connecting in the near future.
