Therapeutic Approach

My hope as a therapist is to partner with you as you move toward more resilient, vibrant, and loving relationships.  My primary goal as a therapist is to offer a safe place for ongoing learning conversations about the relationships and beliefs that matter most to you.  It is a great joy and privilege to witness a transformation in your heart, mind, and soul.  Perhaps the best metaphor I have for this kind of work is spiritual midwifery, a phrase that recalls the sacred nature of healing and living out one's calling.

My approach to therapy is grounded in my conviction that relationship with Christ is the path of healing.  The process takes root as you get clear about your thirst for change.  These roots deepen as more nourishing options are revealed and obstacles removed.  Regardless of your beliefs about God or Christ, I choose to partner with you in your desire for new life.  I offer prayer as a spiritual intervention if you want to move toward God in that way.

Education and Experience

I am a licensed mental health counselor with a masters in Christian counseling from Colorado Christian University.  I also have a bachelors and masters degree in aerospace engineering from MIT and The University of Texas at Austin respectively.  My counseling experience has focused on the healing journey of women who have survived the pain of relational trauma yet still suffer from the lingering impacts.  In response to the challenges inherent with abuse recovery, I have learned to incorporate the principles of deep healing prayer and integrative body mind approaches into my work.  I am especially attuned to the territory of women who have experienced childhood sexual abuse.  I look forward to joining you as you face and work through the following issues:

  • trauma from sexual abuse and intimate partner violence
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • grief
  • spiritual identity conflicts and struggles
  • life transitions

Personal Experiences and Interests

My favorite activities outside of work are partnering with family members in my four-generational household and investing in community through discipleship and prayer ministry.  My mixed heritage of Asian, Latino, and European cultures has given me a strong appreciation for the dignity inherent in each person's life story.
