I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist and have practiced ifor over 20 years in Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Working with private practice clients, my great strength is being a mentor to those who are hungry for change and are ready to start the process of experiencing a new future. I am an "oldie, but goodie" in that I startied college at the age of 35, ten years after my GED, and I know how hard it is to balance the struggle of life and its demands (kids, absent husband) with a driving need to be accepted by my peers and colleagues. I earned my BA and MA from Temple University in Philadelphia and my Ph.D. from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. in 1992.
My passions include teaching at St. Mary's University in Halifax, NS, photography and painting and reating new ways to experience "reality." I am a Children’s author,, hold two degrees in Anthropology and can play the spoons like a Cape Breton native
The unconscious or conscious choices that people make create reality for them, which may not reflect the true situation. Therapy helps the individual to stop the "self story" and begin to recognise the impact of the story and how it began. Therapy helps the individual to decide what will come next and how to re-tell their history and work toward a better future.
In situations where
reality crashes head-on with the person's ability to handle
the stress, therapy helps individuals to de-compress, re-assess and find the strength to deal with whatever crisis is ahead.
I hope you will allow me to help you realize the best future possible.
