I have been a therapist in general practice for over twenty five years. I think we call it "practice" because I am never finished improving my skills as a helper, guide, and agent for positive change. Clients tell me they are releived to have finally found a counselor who gives them honest feedback about their inner lives. I am honored that people share their most private, sometimes emerging, ideas, fears, hopes and dreams with me. I take care to respond with clarity, warmth and kindness. Sometimes clients need help sorting through a mass of confusing contradictory thoughts such as, "I know he/she is mean to me, but I love him/her". Sometimes clients seek my help in finding the courage to stand up for themselves and set healthy boundaries in their relationships.Sometimes people need to learn skills in speaking honestly, listening carefully and calmly tolerating frustration.
