I am also passionate about providing care and emotional support to individuals experiencing difficulties in the pre/post natal stages of pregnancy (i.e. anxiety about pregnancy/parenthood, postpartum depression, relationship difficulties, infertility) or individuals who may have experienced loss due to stillbirth or miscarriage.

Approach

My first aim of therapy is to allow each person to feel supported, heard, and understood. I strive to ensure that the therapy room feels like a safe space where you can share your inner most feelings and thoughts without fear of judgement or reproach.

In therapy, I take a person-centred approach to counselling and actively support my clients in identifying and working through their challenges in a caring and non-judgemental way. I tailor my interventions to meet the needs and goals of the client. Often we begin with the exploration of emotions, thoughts and behaviours which can bring about awareness and understanding. From there, clients can begin to move towards action and change. I understand that making the choice to engage in counselling can be intimidating and that finding a good fit with a therapist is very important. I welcome and encourage any questions you may have regarding my services and the counselling process.

Session fees are $130 (plus HST) per session. A limited number of sliding scale fee spots are available for low income clients or clients without insurance coverage. Please contact me to discuss this option prior to your first appointment. Payment methods currently accepted include cash, etransfers, or credit card.

Counselling and psychotherapy services are not covered through OHIP. However, my practice is supervised by a clinical psychologist and services are therefore covered by most extended health insurance plans.
