Marlene Brouwer, an authorized Jungian Analyst, I.A.A.P., educated at the University of Alberta, (BA 1975, MTS, Pastoral Counseling, 1988, St. Stephen's College). She trained at the C. G. Jung Institute, Zurich (1993-1999) graduating with a Diploma in Analytical Psychology. UNESCO recognizes this program as a Ph.D. equivalent. Examined in all aspects of analytical psychology: complex psychology, archetypal and devlopmental psychology, clinical psychiatry, differential diagnoses, psychopathology, theories of neurosis, psychology of the transference, individuation processes, psychology of dreams, fairy tales and myths, symbol and picture interpretation, comparative study of religions, ethnology, clinical practicums, colloquiums, supervised casework, 300 hours analysis and thesis: "Ritual and Analysis".
From 2000-2010, Marlene was in a private practice as Jungian Psychoanalyst in Aarhus, Denmark. She served 6 years on the executive of the Akademi for Integrerende Psykoterapi at the University of Aarhus Psychiatric Hospital and took specialized training in Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy 2003-2009. Marlene also taught at the C.G. Jung Institute in Copenhagen and supervised candidates from both Copenhagen Institute and the C.G. Jung Institute, Zurich.
Marlene Brouwer relocated to Victoria, B.C. Her private practice offers Jungian Analysis (psychoanalysis) and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy. Marlene has over 30 years of counseling experience. She holds professional membership with the International Association for Analytical Psychology, Western Canada Association of Jungian Analysts, and the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy.
