Melinda is dedicated to assisting her clients through issues that challenge them in various ways as a result of personal, family, inter-relational or bereavement issues.  Her clients benefit from her ability to understand and respond to complications arising from traumatic and life changing events through a caring and empathetic approach.  Melinda is an affiliate member with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. In her practice she sees both individual clients as well as couples who are struggling in their relationship.  She received extensive training in working with couples as well as bereavement skills training  from Dr. Alan Wolfelt of the Center for Loss and Life Transition.

A testimonial from one of the couples that came to see Melinda:

"As a couple, we were at a stand still when it came to our ability to communicate effectively.  We sought out Melinda's expertise for a solution, and couldn't have been happier with how she helped enable us to create solutions that work best for our relationship.  By helping us understand our specific relationship cycles we were provided with an entirely new set of tools so that we could slow down how we communicate in order to hear each other with clarity.

We always looked forward to going to see Melinda as she created a safe environment to talk, no matter the subject.  She is very effective in helping to guide the mood and tone of the conversation in a positive direction.  This encouragement helped us to put our differences in an open space where we had the ability to both support and discuss our individual perspectives.  This aided us immensely in developing a language that works best for our parntership.

Regardless of the state of your relationship, learning how to interact with and respond to your partner in new ways is a truly enriching experience.  We are very grateful to Melinda for her support and for making the journey so enjoyable."
