As a registered counselling psychologist I provide psychological services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I value working in a collaborative and respectful therapeutic relationship. I believe that each person, couple, and family is unique, and based on the presenting issue(s) I draw on a variety of counselling modalities to help clients move toward their therapeutic goals. Working from a gentle, holistic perspective, inner strengths are explored to assist clients in healing, growth, and change. In my counselling practice I offer safe, supportive, and confidential services that integrate current research, knowledge, and training to best serve clients’ therapeutic needs and goals.
I hold a Masters and Doctoral degree in counselling psychology, both awarded by the University of Alberta. In addition to my education and training I have completed advanced certification in clinical hypnotherapy to address issues such as: anxiety and stress management, pain, preparation for surgery or dental procedures, enhancing sports and athletic performance, improving study skills, and modification of unwanted habits. Throughout my training and career I have provided counselling services across multiple settings. I have also served as a university instructor teaching counselling, and I enjoy ongoing work in supervising graduate students. I believe “staying current” is important and that learning is a life-long process.
