I feel blessed to have found my passion in life which is helping families overcome obstacles that prevent them from having more satisfying and rewarding life experiences. I enjoy being part of the positive impact that stable and emotionally enriching relationships have on families and communities.
My persistent curiosity about how to help people live more fulfilling lives has led me to earn a Bachelor's degree from Warner Pacific College in Human Development, a Master's degree from George Fox University in Marriage and Family Therapy, and obtain my WA state license as a marriage and family therapist (LF00002109).
Since 2001, I have had the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills to counseling chlidren, adolescents, and families at a community mental health agency, juvenile detention center, various school systems, and private practice. My work there has focused on providing comprehensive support services in the areas of emotional problems and recovery from trauma related to sexual assault and violence. I have worked closely with primary care physicians, teachers, school counselors, school psychologists, probation officers and other professionals while working with families.
Being fully bilingual in English and Russian, I have provided support and counseled families who have adopted Russian-speaking children from the Former Soviet Union. In addtion, I have used my counseling skills in a variety of Christian ministries. I currently serve in the women's and children's ministries at my church.
