Many times people ask- “If I only could do two things that would improve my mental health- what would they be?” Today, much of the cutting edge research points to ; (1) the maintenance of healthy interpersonal relationships and (2) some form of spiritual practice. Dr. Richard Oelberger’s therapy incorporates both of these components into his therapeutic approach.

The author of the widely acclaimed book “Qualitative Kabbalah: The Value of Living a Spiritual System,” Dr. Richard is renowned for his work, incorporating spirituality and the therapeutic relationship. He works with each individual to help them find a structured philosophy to approaching life and relationships, which ideally becomes the replacement for many unhealthy coping skills people bring into therapy such as substance abuse, compulsive spending, or avoidance.

Dr. Richard believes that your therapeutic success is largely dependent upon the work you put into it, and thus uses every session to push the client further than they ever thought possible. He believes that by creating a warm, open, safe and trusting environment, the individual is better able to explore core fears and beliefs that have been maladaptive in achieving life balance. Each of Dr. Richard’s therapy sessions incorporate aspects of focusing, visualization, and meditation.

Dr. Richard Oelberger has a private practice in Beverly Hills and previosly served as a Supervisor and Forensic Coordinator at Gateways Hospital and has a significant amount of experience teaching behavioral sciences in a university setting. He has received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology through the Saybrook Graduate School in San Francisco, with an emphasis in Spirituality and Consciousness.
