I specialize in helping individuals work through issues related to addiction, self-esteem, and purpose through a process of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness.  I am also qualified to administer and interpret personality and trauma assessments and provide diagnostics.  The information acquired from such testing can inform treatment and be helpful in understanding oneself on a more in-depth level.  Once we have a firm understanding of where we are, we can determine where we're going and how we want to get there.

I believe we all have the power to create lasting change in our lives. During times of struggle or stress, our confidence may waiver because we've become unsure of where we are going.  We may question what it all means or look to find meaning in the challenge. It's during these times that a qualified, caring and skilled professional is just what we need in order to rediscover the power that lies within us.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist working in private practice in Calgary.  I hold two degrees: a Bachelor of Education degree and a Master’s degree in Counselling. I support clients through a range of mental health issues including:
  • addiction
  • relapse prevention
  • self-esteem and worthiness
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • eating disorders
  • stress management
  • interpersonal difficulties
  • career transitions
  • marriage/ relationships challenges

Drawing on many techniques, I incorporate elements of:
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Mindfulness
  • Spirituality
  • Positive Psychology

As a former educator, I subscribe to the concept of lifelong learning and in sharing the powerful lessons I have learned in my own journey.  Life is not about having it all figured out.

Life is about knowing when to ask for help and having the courage to make the changes necessary to move forward in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

The biggest misconception about self-help is thinking we have to do it alone.  We all struggle from time to time and having someone there to talk with, vent to and learn from can make all the difference.  You are not alone!

My theoretical orientation stems from a base in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Learning to move forward knowing that we have the power to affect our destiny can be a life-changing experience. I also incorporate psychodynamic psychotherapy into my approach because often understanding one's past can help inform the future.

I am an empathetic, trustworthy and respectful practitioner who provides a warm, compassionate and judgment-free environment where you are free to come and be as you are. I believe a strong therapeutic alliance between the client and the clinician can greatly contribute to a positive experience and lasting change.

I am available for some evening appointments and am conveniently located just off 17 Ave SW.

Give me a call or shoot me an email.  I look forward to meeting you soon and hearing your story.
