Life presents many issues that can present growth rather than stagnation or despair. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with varied past experiences, I work with children, individuals and couples to facilitate positive growth in dealing with relationships and transitions. Collaborating with clients to highlight strengths and interests and well as weaknesses provides information to faciliate change. Providing a safe environment and authenticity are goals in my counseling environment. I believe each person is unique and am honored to share in each individual story.
In working with children, I utilize play therapy techniques such as sandtray and art therapy. Working from a Solution-Focused approach, I approach therapy building on strengths and abilities.
I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral techniques as well as more long-term psychodynamic theories to address individual client needs. I seek support systems and provide psychoeducational information to my clients to assist them in reaching their goals and potential. I approach family issues from a family systems perspective to attend to the needs of the family as a whole.
